5 December 2008 NEW PICKS DIRTY DOZEN Sandisk (SNDK:NASDAQ) $8.08 - $0.94 on 16,723,510 shares. Management pulled a "Jerry Wang" at yahoo by turning down a $26 deal from *******. Toshiba passed at an offer. I would not be surprised to see ******* come back with a lower offer in the future. I don't think it is imperative to buy today, but on any further dip I will be picking at the Call options. I like the January $5.00 Calls (SWQAR) currently at $3.35-3.50 or the April $5.00 Calls (SWQDR) at $3.90-4.20. You could also look at the April $6.00 Calls (SWQDF) at 3.35-3.60.
Manitowoc (MTW:NYSE) $6.64 -0.60 on 3,664,921 shares. This is a company in the Bargain Bin. In October the company concluded the takeover of Enodis PLC for $2.7 billion and at the current price of $6.64 the market cap is $865 million. I would not be surprised to see someone bid for this company. The stock is down from $50. Again pick at it on down days. The January $5.00 Calls (MTWAS) are $1.85-2.10 and the March $5.00 Calls are $2.35-2.55. No need to rush today but look to buy both of these on dips.
