Default Melbourne launches new mobile guide

Find out what’s hot in magical Melbourne with a brand new mobile phone guide

Melbourne launches new mobile guide

New of the city’s hottest events and attractions can now be sent straight to your phone

Tourism Victoria has launched a hot new mobile application that gives visitors to Melbourne the lowdown on what's happening, offering a round-up of the latest events and attractions.

The Insiders' Guide to Melbourne is an Australian first, highlighting the range of experiences and activities that visitors can enjoy in this, one of Australia’s liveliest and most action-packed locations.

The free guide features information about some of the city's coolest and most up-and-coming bars, restaurants, shops, cafés and events and includes a short description, contact details and a map showing how to get there.

Tourism Victoria will launch four editions of the guide with each season - the spring edition is available now.

Claire Golding, Regional Manager UK & Europe for Tourism Victoria, says: "Melbourne is constantly evolving and there are always new things to discover – many of which are tucked down hidden laneways or behind nondescript doors. The guide gives suggestions on how to immerse yourself in the city's culture by highlighting the best places to eat, drink, shop and sightsee".

The Insider's Guide to Melbourne is free and can be downloaded to compatible mobile ****** by texting the word 'guide' to 0448 848 433 (04488 GUIDE).

Don’t miss the essential visitors’ guide to the coolest, best and funkiest attractions in Melbourne in the March issue of Australia & New Zealand magazine, which hits the shelves on Thursday 5 February.

To see for yourself what Melbourne and Victoria have to offer check out the 'Visit Melbourne' website.
