Hello
Though the real estate market has steadily declined in the last two years, luxury homes may signal a change in the market. The top most expensive homes in the country this year are more expensive than those at the top last year. In fact, two $60 million estates were bumped off the top ten list this year. Could this be good news for all home sellers? Possibly, though it’s unlikely the market will make a complete turnaround any time soon. Bill Fandel, a broker with Peak Real Estate Sotheby’s International Realty who sold the luxury property Bootjack Ranch for $47 million, said “News of its sale may stimulate additional activity among the nation's top-tier properties.” (Yahoo.com) And it will hopefully stimulate activity among all properties.

Of the top ten most expensive homes in the US, the most asking prices range from $65 million to $150 million. The average price among the top five is a staggering $106 million. Apparently luxury homeowners want to sell, and if the sale of Bootjack Ranch and the pending sale of the Belleair mansion, Le Belvedere, are any indication, luxury home buyers are in the market for a new place.
